You can perform most exercises with a mask, neck protector and gloves. These should be your first purchases. It may also be possible to rent equipment from an instructor but at present it is very limited.
NB The club colours are black and white and new breeches should not be Pluderhosen.
Before buying anything it is recommended to test other people's gear for size and compatibility. Everybody is happy to help!
It is recommended to buy equipment in the following order:
1. Mask
We recommend Allstar and Uhlmann masks. We do not recommend PBT as the mesh becomes damaged easily.
Eg. Allstar Comfort or Comfort Coach mask:

https://allstar.de/en/comfort-coach-inox-fie-mask/amic-fm-s
You can also find masks cheaply at Kleinanzeigen (40-60 EUR).

2. Neck protector
We recommend Red Dragon. PBT and others can be ok if Red Dragon are not available, but the clavicle protectors may not fit under your jacket and are not necessary:

3. Gloves
Buy mitten gloves from Sparring Gloves or the Black Knight gloves from HF Armory via their distributor in Poland. Do not buy five finger gloves of any kind for longsword! Black Knight are the most popular and most protective.
HF Armory Black Knight (you will need to make/buy forearm protection separately and wear thin under gloves from eg. Bauhaus):

Sparring Gloves Mittens with long cuffs (you will need to wear 800N olympic fencing gloves underneath):

4. Athletic support for men
Any will do. Important.
The next stage is to upgrade the mask a little so you can do a few more exercises:
5. Mask overlay
Eg. Allstar leather overlay:

Complete overlays with back of head protection from SPES:

https://histfenc.eu/en/men/104-unity-leather-mask-overlay-5909920692980.html
NB We do not recommend overlays of the hood type as they get too hot inside.
6. Back of head protection
The SPES Vectir is a popular model and fits with a separate SPES overlay:

The next most important thing is of course a sword:
7. Feder:
We recommend any of the SIGI Feders (SIGI Feder, Concept, Maestro, Light) or, for those on a budget, Regenyei custom Feder with medium flex and a spatulated tip. You have to ask for these options from Regenyei when ordering. Do not buy swords with a rolled tip and / or a flex more than 15kg! A safe Feder for longsword fencing should have a spatulated tip, flex of around 12,5kg, point of balance around 5-6cm from the cross, and not weigh more than 1,7kg (ideally 1,2-1,6kg).
SIGI:

Regenyei custom Feder:
Options: Spatulated tip, 100cm, Medium strength (11,5-13kg ), Crossguard length: 28cm, Pommel: Pear
https://regenyei.com/feders/custom-feders/
For women we recommend the SIGI Light model (1,2kg) or the Regenyei custom Feder (~1,45kg) - unless you are jacked.
And when things are becoming even more fun:
8. Chest protector:
This will protect your ribcage from thrusts and strikes and goes under the jacket. It is mandatory for thrusting work.

For women:

For men and women (the white ones only, the Elite black are too large):

9. Jacket:
We recommend the SPES Light 800N jacket. The regular SPES and particularly the Hussar are too hot and heavy. Jackets come with elbow protectors but, depending upon your gloves, you may need to buy forearm protectors. We recommend football shinpads or making them from Kydex.

10. Breeches
SPES Dragonfly 800N for men:

11. Football socks
Black or white, any brand will do
12. Knee and shin protection
Eg. Motocross knee protectors with football shin guards, or smaller tactical knee protectors with field hockey guards from Decathlon, etc. The most important thing is that they protect the sides of your knees.
13. Black duct tape to fix your gear in emergencies
Eg. from Bauhaus
14. Hockey stick tape to fix the grip of your Feder
Eg. from Amazon, Decathlon.
