Both are decorated longsword fencers with 14+ years of experience and numerous podium wins between them. We teach early German longsword fencing with a focus on the teachings of Johannes Liechtenauer. Our training philosophy is based upon accurate reconstructions of historical techniques combines with rigourously tested interpretations as a full-contact martial art. Outside of fencing we practice other sports, including olympic fencing and strength training, which inform our fencing as both a fully developed sport and a beautiful martial art.
Pepin Marshall
began fencing in 2017 at probably the most successful historical fencing club in the world; EHMS in Helsinki, Finland. After moving to Germany in 2018 he immediately began teaching advanced longsword at Ochs München. In 2020 he became Germany's Vize-Meister in longsword fencing. After a year fencing olympic sabre and a small pause for knee surgery, he has since been teaching at his own creation, Langes Schwert München since late 2024 where he leads trainings.
In real life he has a background in psychology and works as a neuroscientist and bioinformatician specialising in movement disorders. He likes tea, Indian and Italian food and all kinds of music from UK garage to baroque harpsichord. When he is not fencing he can be found riding his bike, jumping in lakes and cross-country skiing.
Pepin can teach in German, English, and Finnish or in very bad Italian, Swedish, and French.
Nicolas Petritzky
has been fencing for more than 7 years now. He started fencing at Henger SV in Neumarkt where he is now head trainer. Though he dabbled inititally in Fiore and Vadi, his focus is on early sources in the Liechtenauer tradition. Some of his most recent successes in 2024 were bronze at the prestigious Pražský Argument and gold at the One For All team tournament - both in in Prague - together with Pepin Marshall, Maximilian Riebe and Niklas Wild.
In his job as a VFX and motion graphics artist he tries to push his creative side. Playing piano, working on historical fencing YouTube videos on the side and consumption of unneccesarily spicy food are hobbies of his outside of ritualised violence.
Nicolas teaches in German or in English but can also speak anime Japanese.
